Globalrail: our annual exhibition
The history
Until recently the German Railway Society hosted its own model railway exhibition, Globalrail, each year.
Most of the layouts invited had a German connection, but other countries were usually represented too.
As well as layouts in a range of scales and gauges (to date including G, 0, H0, H0e, TT, N and Z), Globalrail featured a selection of specialist traders selling not only railway models and modelling supplies and tools but books, videos and ephemera. We were pleased to invite representatives from other railway societies too. Globalrail was a great opportunity to meet other enthusiasts and a convivial day out.

We’re grateful to our Exhibition Manager Alan who arranged all these events, as well as to all who exhibited, assisted, and brought their trade stands along. Over many years previously the Society hosted a show at various venues and we are sorry that it is not currently possible for us to uphold the tradition.
New show!
In October 2024 a new show, the Convention of European Railway Societies Exhibition, takes place. This is a joint effort: the Austrian Railway Group, the Swiss Railways Society, the Italian Railway Society, the French Railway Society, the German Railway Society and the Scandinavian Railway Society will each have a stand and present a layout. The European Railways Association (ERA) will have a bookstall. We strongly support this initiative and we hope to see you there!
